Two finds this week, both with a short window — let’s not waste time.
D&D Beyond Maps VTT — Free Starting Today
As of today, D&D Beyond has opened its built-in virtual tabletop to all account holders at no cost. Host games, use any maps or modules you already own, move creature tokens, run fog of war — all free, no subscription required. Full DM customization tools (custom maps, lighting control, the deep stuff) are still Master Tier only, but the core experience of actually running a game? Yours. If you’ve been painting minis for a campaign and running it on theater-of-the-mind or a cobbled-together setup, this removes the last excuse. And if it gets your table back in action, Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures are the go-to for painting your own D&D characters — unpainted, affordable, and made for exactly this.

GW Free Miniature of the Month — September Is the Last One
Games Workshop has been handing out a free miniature every month with in-store purchases for seven years running. September’s mini is a Space Marine Scout — and it’s the last one. The program ends after this month, and GW hasn’t said yet what replaces it in October. If you’ve got a local GW store or a participating hobby shop nearby, this weekend is your window. Even if Warhammer isn’t your world, a Space Marine Scout paints up surprisingly well as a dungeon ranger, a city guard, or basically any armored adventurer you need for the table. Free plastic is free plastic.

While you’re grabbing that Scout, Warhammer Community just updated their free faction painting guides for September — including a step-by-step for the Scout itself if you want to follow the official recipe before you start experimenting.
See you next week.
